European timber technologies for sustainable buildings

Two decades of experience in the global timber trade, now focused on schools, healthcare and public buildings. We bring together international partners, proven Austrian technologies, local expertise and institutions in one system — from material to finished building.

From timber trade to integrated timber infrastructure

Wood has always been at the core of what we do — a renewable material that connects the built environment with nature. Building on two decades of experience in international timber markets, we have moved beyond supplying material to understanding what it can enable: better infrastructure that is resource-efficient, adaptable and designed to work with nature.

Two decades of timber expertise, built on four principles

We work with FSC/PEFC-certified timber and CE-marked products from European suppliers. Our approach rests on four pillars: European materials & Austrian engineering, local people & culture, collaboration and sustainability.

From schools to airports, infrastructure serves very different purposes

We bring together materials, engineering and proven technologies for educational environments, healthcare facilities, transport hubs, airports, public spaces and private buildings — adapting their combination to the needs of each project.

One philosophy, different projects

Behind very different project types, from showcase centres to schools, stands one and the same philosophy. Both projects are at the concept stage and looking for financing.

A House of Austrian Technologies for Vienna

Not a classic showroom but a place where people work, meet and receive delegations, and where Austrian technologies can be experienced first-hand in everyday use.

    Schools made of wood

Schools built from certified engineered timber and adapted to local climate and requirements. We are preparing the first pilot projects in Central Asia, where fast-growing markets need healthy, low-carbon places to learn.

Adopting a new way of building is a risk. We make it a decision you can defend.

  • See it before you decide

Our demonstration centre in Vienna (in development) will let delegations see Austrian timber construction working alongside energy and water solutions — and take home a concrete reference for their own programmes.

  • Proven systems, local skills

Engineered timber has been standard in Austrian schools and public buildings for more than two decades. Programmes build on that track record, and local teams are trained in assembly and maintenance, so the expertise stays in the country.

  • Prepared for financing

We prepare projects the way international lenders assess them: life-cycle carbon data (EN 15978), EU Taxonomy screening and green-building certification — so the technical case is in place before the financing conversation starts.

  • Traceable from forest to site

Certified timber (FSC/PEFC) and CE-marked components with documented origin, so publicly funded projects meet procurement and audit requirements.

Where the ecosystem comes together

Sustainable infrastructure is not created by one player alone. It emerges when institutions, technology, industry, finance, local expertise and end users work towards the same goal. IM HOLZ Nova acts as a bridge between them — bringing different perspectives into one process and helping turn shared ambition into projects that can be implemented.
